Amy Jernigan

Amy Jernigan

Treasurer

Amy Swift Jernigan has 32 years of service as a U.S. Government Federal Employee where she served as senior expert in the areas of government oversight and U.S. Senate legislative affairs. Major commendations include selection as a Presidential Management Fellow.

Amy’s tours of duty include work at the highest levels of government including The White House, Office of the U.S. Senate Majority Leader; U.S. Secretary of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Amy’s roles spanned from being the Special Assistant to the Administrator for Program Management at FTA and Manager, Financial Management Oversight in which she managed the work of five CPA firms.

Amy has extensive community involvement. She is a patron of the arts that was spurred by living in Florence, Italy to study theatre and art history. Her community involvement also includes Mark Making, a Public Art non-profit in Chattanooga, TN; University of North Carolina, Heart and Vascular Hospital capital campaign and Labrador Retriever Rescue of the Potomac, Director, where she transports shelter dogs to foster homes.

Amy received her B.A. in Public Affairs and Government from Mount Vernon College and her M.A. in Public Administration from Arizona State University.
